Canva has launched ProSuite, a package that links its Affinity, Cavalry, Flourish, and Leonardo products for the first time and positions them alongside Canva’s Visual Suite. The company says the updates were shaped by requests from professional designers, motion designers, and other creatives.
If you freelance in design, branding, or motion work, the question is whether the connected tools cut your handoffs and revision time. The launch notes are heavy on features and light on bundle pricing, so the details matter before you commit.
What ProSuite Actually Includes
On the Affinity side, Canva lists a Blend Tool, scripting, a Mask Tool, 3D model support, and a photo overhaul with a RAW development engine, batch imports, and Scene Decomposition. Cavalry gets more than 50 upgrades, including a Metaballs shape, new filters, and a Graph Editor upgrade.
Affinity also gets a Claude AI connector that runs repetitive jobs such as batch edits and print prep from plain-language instructions. Canva says the core Affinity and Cavalry platforms stay free, while Canva AI Studio inside Affinity needs a Canva premium plan, and the page gives no price for ProSuite as a bundle.
Why This Matters For Self-Employed Designers
Solo designers lose billable time to repetitive work like resizing, retouching, exporting, and re-adapting files after a client changes direction. Automation that handles batch edits and print prep in the background targets exactly that unpaid overhead.
Free core versions of Affinity and Cavalry also lower the cost of a tool stack, which matters when software subscriptions sit on your expense list every month. Canva’s Duncan Clark said, “Every one of today’s launches exists because we asked professionals what they needed.” Test that claim against your own workflow before you move client projects over.
What Self-Employed Designers Should Do Next
Pick one active project and trial the new tools on it instead of migrating your whole archive. Time a typical task before and after, so you have real numbers on whether the suite saves hours.
Check the premium plan requirement before you rely on any AI features, and budget for it as a business expense only if it pays for itself. Keep copies of your source files in open formats too, since moving projects between tools can slow you down for a while.
What To Watch Next
Look for Affinity for iPad, due in November, and for the Cavalry editing inside Canva that the company calls coming soon. The Cavalry AI tools, including Remove Background, Generate Vector, and Image to Layers, also have no firm date yet.
Canva is not the only platform pulling creative tools into AI workflows, as we saw when Meta’s Muse added QuickBooks, Canva and Shopify connectors for small business. Expect more connectors that let you hand routine tasks to an assistant.
