Martin Coulter, a news editor based in London, contributed to a report that unveiled the 24th annual Midas List. The list spotlights the top 100 venture capital investors globally. The rankings are determined based on data from VC firms and public sources.
Investors are assessed on their returns over the last five years. To qualify, VCs must have backed companies that went public or were acquired for at least $200 million. They can also qualify if the companies they backed saw valuations double to $400 million or more within that time frame.
This year, the list includes seven investors based in Europe. Six of them operate out of London and one is from Berlin. Danny Rimer from Index Ventures made the list, with a notable deal being Figma.
Phillipe Botteri from Accel also made the list, with a notable deal being DocuSign.

Luciana Lixandru from Sequoia was on the list, with a notable deal being UiPath.
Tom Stafford from DST Global made the list, with a notable deal being Nubank. Pawel Chudzinski from Point Nine Capital was on the list, with a notable deal being Revolut. Martin Mignot from Index Ventures made the list, with a notable deal being Deliveroo.
Julia Andre from Accel was on the list, with a notable deal being Miro. Despite the robust VC presence in Europe, the region remains underrepresented on the Midas List. This highlights the challenges and growth opportunities for venture capital on the continent.
The report also included some editor’s picks and venture capital updates. Schroders recently hired Dave Neumann from Molten Ventures to bolster their efforts as they double down on VC with a new $600m fund. Paris-based Cathay Innovation closed a €1bn AI fund, which is one of the largest VC funds in continental Europe.
