Upfluence’s AI Agent Now Pitches And Negotiates With Creators

Upfluence, a creator marketing platform, says it has become fully agentic, with an AI system called Jaice that drafts campaign briefs, contacts creators, and negotiates rates for brands, AdExchanger reported on September 28. The shift means the first message a creator gets about a sponsorship may increasingly come from software.

For independent creators, this changes who is on the other side of the negotiation. It is worth knowing how these tools decide who to pitch.

What Upfluence’s AI Agent Actually Does

Jaice studies a brand’s website and past campaign data to estimate audience demographics and typical collaboration costs. From there it identifies creators who fit and handles the outreach without a human writing each message.

CEO Vivien Garnès told AdExchanger that many campaign decisions have an objectively best answer, which the system learns from thousands of earlier collaborations. He described the goal as not building a bigger haystack but helping brands “find the needles.” The platform also connects with Shopify and WooCommerce so it can track purchases and judge campaign results.

Why This Matters For Self-Employed Creators

If software is choosing whom to contact, your profile data, past performance, and audience fit matter more than ever. A vague media kit or outdated rate card can mean you never show up in the shortlist.

Garnès also noted that upfront payment signals a brand’s commitment and tends to appeal more to creators than commission-only offers. For a solo creator, that is a useful filter: pay attention to how a brand structures compensation before spending time on a pitch.

What Self-Employed Creators Should Do Next

Update your media kit with clear audience demographics, engagement numbers, and results from previous campaigns, since automated matching depends on that kind of data. Publish your rates or at least a rate range so outreach starts from realistic numbers.

When an automated pitch arrives, respond to it as you would a human one, but verify the brand and ask who handles final approval. Push for upfront payment or a base fee plus performance bonus rather than commission alone.

What To Watch Next

Pricing was not disclosed, so it is unclear whether agent-driven outreach will lower brands’ costs enough to push more small campaigns toward micro creators. Watch also for rivals moving in the same direction, and for platform rules on automated messaging.

Creators are already navigating AI on other fronts, including the licensing fears covered in an Epidemic Sound creator report. Together, more automation and more AI in the workflow suggest creators who present clean data and clear terms will be easiest to book.
