The Telangana government has appointed Kavikrut as T-Hub’s new Chief Executive Officer, one of the world’s leading startup incubators. The appointment is effective from March 10, 2025. Kavikrut brings 17 years of experience in leadership roles across various companies.

Most recently, he served as the Chief Growth Officer at OYO, expanding the company’s presence to over 100 cities in India. He also led OYO’s international expansion into Japan in partnership with Yahoo! Japan and SoftBank Japan in 2018. T-Hub believes Kavikrut’s appointment will significantly strengthen its mission to empower entrepreneurs, accelerate startup growth, and drive the development of world-class products from India.

The incubator has supported more than 2,000 startups through its programs, global market access, and industry collaboration.

Kavikrut to lead T-Hub

Kavikrut expressed his excitement about the new role, stating, “Telangana’s commitment to startups has been truly inspiring.

I am honored to have the opportunity to build upon the pioneering work T-Hub has been doing for the past decade. I am excited by the potential of Hyderabad, the city I hail from, as it steadily grows into a hub for startups building products and services for the world.

Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for IT and Industries, emphasized that Kavikrut’s passion for startups, global experience, and hands-on operational skills make him the ideal leader for T-Hub. B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, founding director at T-Hub and founder chairman of IT firm Cyient, described the new CEO’s appointment as a significant milestone for the organization.

Kavikrut holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MSc in Finance from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani. He began his career as a healthcare startup founder and has held positions at Amazon and Piramal Group. With this appointment, the Telangana government has completed the appointments of heads for all three major startup ecosystem establishments in Hyderabad—T-Hub, hardware prototyping facility T-Works, and women entrepreneurship-focused WE Hub—since assuming office in December 2023.
