The House of Representatives passed President Donald Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” on Thursday. The bill aims to cement Trump’s America First agenda into law. The legislation includes tax cuts and reforms that many organizations say will benefit American workers, businesses, and families.
The Farm Bureau applauded updated farm programs and tax provisions that will help farmers and ranchers. The Chamber of Commerce said the bill will raise wages and improve lives by making tax relief permanent. Airlines for America praised the $12.5 billion investment to modernize air traffic control infrastructure.
The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association said the bill invests in cattle health and provides tax relief to protect family farms.
House passes Trump’s tax cuts bill
Small business groups like the Job Creators Network and National Association of Manufacturers called it a major victory.
They said making tax cuts permanent will allow small businesses to expand, hire, and raise wages. However, the bill would also roll back incentives for electric vehicles. It repeals subsidies for EV purchases, battery manufacturing, and charging stations passed under President Biden.
Analysts said this will make EVs more expensive and could delay automakers’ plans for new EV and battery factories in the U.S.
The legislation now heads to the Senate for consideration. Republican leaders aim to use money saved from cutting EV incentives to provide tax cuts primarily for high-income households and businesses. The White House said the bill could increase take-home pay for families and workers by over $13,000 and $11,000 respectively over the next four years.
It projects the reforms could increase GDP by 5.2% and create up to 7.4 million jobs in that time.
