What is RSS
RSS (Real Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) is an XML-based format for
content distribution. Each feed contains information about the content on our site in the form of headlines,
descriptions and a link to the full story.
RSS feeds look strange when viewed in a Web browser with no formatting, but the feeds can be used for multiple
purposes and take on a very readable appearance when used in association with RSS readers, which pull content from a
variety of sources to one easy-to-manage location.
There
are a whole host of tools that provide that service.
RSS feeds are also used to incorporate headlines into a Web site. If you do use our headlines on your site, please mention that the
story is from SelfEmployed.com and include a link back to the full story. You are free to use our feeds in other creative ways, as well,
as long as your usage is within our terms of service. We would love to hear how you're using our feed, so please
send us an e-mail to let us know.
Information about SelfEmployed.com is distributed to registered users through e-mail, direct mail and by phone. We may also
send email messages on behalf of businesses and organizations, to include SelfEmployed.com sponsors, who have products and
services we think may be of interest to you. SelfEmployed.com maintains total control of your email address, as well as the content
and distribution of the messages you receive. Whenever the possibility exists that the information collected on the site could be
shared, you will be given the opportunity to elect (opt-in) or decline (opt-out) participation.
