Healthcare industry: Site designs garner leadership awards

Consumer Health Interactive (CHI), an AdvancePCS company, announced that its health and wellness sites took honors for the third year in a row in the 2002 eHealthcare Leadership Awards. This yearly competition is sponsored by eHealthcare Strategies & Trends, a leading Internet publication that recognizes healthcare companies demonstrating excellence in online communications and innovative Web-based initiatives.

Lifeguard Inc., took the top award in the HMO/PPO classification with a Platinum in the Best Health/Healthcare Content category for its CHI designed site www.mylifeguardforhealth.com. In addition, two other CHI sites took Silver awards in the same category--Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota for http:// blueprint.bluecrossmn.com and the Principal Financial Group for www.principalhealthnews.com.

CHI's winning sites were chosen out of 1,000 entrants from a wide range of healthcare organizations. An independent panel of more than 50 judges in the healthcare field evaluated the entries in the Health/Healthcare content category based on the content's depth, balance, organization, credibility, and ability to meet individual users' needs.

"Being recognized by our industry peers is always an honor," says Daniel A. Segedin, CHI's president and CEO. "CHI has long been committed to providing online solutions for our clients that drive traffic and stimulate additional usage of plan programs and services. These recent awards reinforce the value our solutions provide to both our clients and their members."

CHI clients also include industry leaders such as Anthem, Inc., Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, Vhi Healthcare, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey and Premera Blue Cross.
